I say Book Club, you say...

Care to join me for the Simple Living Book Club?

You don't have to do much, just grab a book and start reading. Then join us online Thursday mornings for Q&A, discussions and inspiration.

Spearheaded by Tsh of Simple Mom, we are starting Michael Pollan's 'In Defense of Food' on May 6 and I can't wait to sink my teeth into it.

This book is a must read if you love food and care about your health and the health of you family.

Pollan states that the more we worry about nutrition, the less healthy we seem to be. His manifesto, written as a journalist, talks about escaping from the Western diet and offers practical and applicable advice on how to make better food choices.

Head here to read Tsh's intro to the book and details on how to join the book club

Hope to see you there!

This is such a fabulous idea; and a fabulous book to kick it off with. It's a real eye-opener. Thursday mornings can be challenging for me, and I don't quite fit into the 'mom' category, but I'll try my best to join you.

@Jan- I hope you do!
@Amanda- you don't have to be a mom!! Please join us. Also, the discussion happens all day, whenever people can jump onto the forums. It's not a live chat. Hope to see you there!

Great book I hear. My boyfriend has read it but I haven't yet.

He also bought Food Rules, but says Pollan covers much of it in In Defense of Food.

Wonderful idea! Kudos

I'm going to run out and pick this one up. Ok, I'll probably stay right here and order it on Amazon, but I'm going to get it for sure! Thanks for giving me the kick in the bum I needed. I'd love to join the book club!

Left you an award at my site today...swing by and pick it up. You deserve it.

I'm SO excited for this! I haven't done a book club in a while and this one feel so important, you know?

Hoping to see lots of familiar faces there :-) (well, you know, user-names)

Best Wishes!

I've actually wanted to read this book. I'm in the middle of another book now, but you'll have to let us know if this is a worthy read! Just found your blog and I already know I'll be back again. At least for those donuts below! ;-)

Sounds like a great idea for you young mothers! My family is gone (and healthy so I must have done something right in the kitchen ;) )and I read like a fiend so the last thing I need is another list! I'll be sure to watch for Thursday reviews.
