Mother's Day Giveaway: BellaBlu Birthing & Nursing Gown

** This giveaway is now close and the winner is announced HERE. A big thank you to all who entered!**

In honour of the upcoming Mother's Day, I'm giving away a beautiful birthing gown from BellaBlu Maternity! Mom, and moms-to-be, read on to find out more.

If there was ever any question about this blogs evolution from food blog to family blog, it should be pretty obvious after this post.

I mean, instead of birthday part treats and pie recipes, I'm sharing a rather intimate photo of myself in early labor. It's safe to say, I've crossed some sort of online privacy threshold.

Oh well. I'm excited about this giveaway - personal photos and all - because I absolutely adore my BellaBlu gown and can't wait to make someone's day by giving one away!

A birthing gown? Really? Yes indeed. I first spotted it on Pinterest (no surprise there) a few months ago and wishfully added it to my board For Baby. I wanted something pretty and comfortable for Clara's birth (hospital gowns? Ick.) and I knew this was the one.

The BellaBlu gown arrived in time (Clara kept threatening to come early, so I wasn't sure if it would make it), and when my water broke at 5am on March 10, it was washed and ready for the big event.

I loved wearing this birthing gown during labor. It was ten times more comfortable than a itchy hospital gown and the soft jersey cotton wrapped me up in a soft, warm hug.

The hospital staff were a little skeptical and wanted me to change into one of their gowns (uh, NO) but they soon saw how practical it was and changed their tune. The smart wrap-a-round design of the gown allows for plenty of easy 'access' for the doctor and nurses.

My doctor even exclaimed how pretty the birthing gown was (yes, she's a girl and notices such things).

My gown washed up nicely after Clara's birth, and I've been able to continue to wear it as a nursing gown. The velcro at the shoulders straps are another one of its practical features, designed for breastfeeding.

Definitely check out a few more photos of the BellaBlu birthing gown, and see the other pretty colors they have to offer. Also, be sure to follow BellaBlu Maternity on Twitter and Like them on Facebook.

Labor and postpartum recovery and among the hardest thing a woman will have to endure in her lifetime; shouldn't she be dressed appropriately and comfortably during them?

Giveaway!

Oh I would love to win this! I know our next baby will be coming sooner rather than later and I would LOVE not to wear that ugly green gown again.

Due in July, living in Austin, TX. I know I would appreciate something simple to throw on, easy to nurse in, comfortable in hot climate, that I can still feel pretty in post partum.

I'm expecting my first in 6 weeks, and I've been wondering what to wear for the big event... this would be lovely! Thanks Aimee!

I'm expecting my second this October and just remembering the uncomfortable hospital gowns makes me cringe. Also, all those snaps are way too much! This gown is just too cute!

I'm due in 29 days with our second boy (but who's counting??). I love the look of these gowns and would really appreciate getting to wear one during labor and post-partum.

I so would love this beautiful gown! I am currently trying to get pregnant for the 3rd time...wouldn't it be nice if this was the good luck charm to help that dream come true!

I am due July 6th with our first and would love to have this for both birthing and recovery. There is something about feeling cute when you're doing something incredibly hard--and I know I have no idea!

Thanks, Aimee!

Thanks for this information! I'm due in October, and have barely given a thought to what I would want to wear during the birth (it's my first and I'm surprisingly happy-go-lucky about everything, although I'm doing everything I'm supposed to), but it makes sense that you would want something comfortable.

I'm due in January! I'm waiting to announce it to friends and family. We lost our little one last year when I was 3 months along : ( I'm hoping and praying this little one will stay with me till January = )

We are expecting for November! I would love this for this time around. Last time I was fortunate to labour in my regular clothes (that was the fast part) but come delivery time, I was pretty much naked for the 5 hours of pushing. This would be far better!!

I would love this for our next little one. I hated everyone seeing me in the ugly hospital gown, and it seemed like people were constantly coming in my room!

I liked BellaBlu. Thanks!

Now this has me inspired to leave a comment and try to win this! I first saw the gown from Tim & Ange's photos of the birth and was wondering where I was to get one for the arrival of baby #3 in October. Thanks for sharing, Aimee!

I'm due in Nov and would love to win this gown. Last time I had to really push to wear my own t-shirt--an XL college shirt that was much loved and very comfy. This time I'd like to look a little less college-y.

I just want to wish all the moms to be a joyful and healthy delivery. You look smashing in the gown. You are so correct, moms deserve to look their best while giving birth. PLEASE don't choose me as a winner, my birthing days are l-o-n-g over.

Our first babe is due to arrive on August 15, and can I say that I'm a little more than terrified of the whole birthing process! A lovely, cozy birthing gown sounds like exactly what I need to ease the nerves a little, right? ;) Thanks for the inspiration, Aimee!

Looks nice and roomy - great to wear on days when I'm retaining water, or had one too many helping of dessert.

I'm due in less than a month and this looks like it would be the perfect thing- my back up plan is a tank top and an Old Navy roll down skirt (no hospital gown for me if I can help it!), but this gown is WAY prettier! (I liked them on facebook and am about to go tweet it:)

Hi fellow mom and blogger. I am married to another woman and she carried our child. I had been trying for many years and it didn't click for me (yet!). Tough road (check out ). I am going to start trying again this spring, and I feel like maybe being wrapped in that positive yumminess might be the good juju I need!

Oh my I was just telling my husband that I really wanted to get a birthing gown for the hospital. We're due for our third here within the next two weeks (doubt it'd get here in time if I did win, le sigh). I remember the hospital gowns, ugly, huge, and made me feel like I was there because I was sick not giving birth. Would love something pretty like this. Thanks!
